Courses

All my lessons are tailored to the individual requirements of each student, no matter which course is chosen, so a combination of both is also proposed.

These two course outlines offer a range different options for intermediate learners to choose from in terms of the content and focus of the lessons.

Courses are offered by video call or by phone.

General English

General English covers all aspects of English usage, spoken, oral and written

The main areas of focus during the lessons is confidence in speaking & listening, specifically:

  • Conversational interaction in a variety of topics
  • Listening skills, especially decoding connected speech
  • Developing vocabulary and grammar
  • Improving pronunciation

Reading, writing & grammar practice will mainly be given as homework, where necessary.

Along with the video call, each lesson learners will have access to a shared document where both the teacher and learner can write and share texts and images.

For maximum progress, students are encouraged to practice English as regularly as possible between lessons therefore reading and writing activities will be given as homework in preparation for the next lesson.

Video Call Platforms

There are many excellent platforms which are perfect for learning English from home or at your workplace at your convenience. Options include Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Skype and Zoom.

Phone Lessons

Phone lessons are ideal for people on the move. All you need is your phone, a quiet space and a good network connection. Phone lessons are suitable for people who already have a good level of English (recommended intermediate or above). It is much more challenging to speak over the phone without any visual help so regular phone lessons will boost your confidence in speaking and comprehension greatly.

Obviously the focus of the phone lessons will be on speaking, however learners will have access to a shared document where both the teacher and learner can write and share texts and images so learners can see any new vocabulary or grammar and corrections during or after the lesson. Following each call the teacher will suggest reading, listening or written work in preparation for the following lesson.
